Gymnastics WA Partners with A Stitch In Time to Promote Mental Health and Wellbeing

Gymnastics WA has recently partnered with A Stitch In Time, a local charity aimed at promoting wellbeing through advocacy, education and social connection for individuals and communities.

A Stitch In Time was created in 2014 by Greg Hire and has been highly praised by many organisations and schools since. The charity believes in hope, help, education and prevention.

Their programs include (but are not limited to) keynote presentations, workshops and webinars on a wide range of mental health and wellbeing topics. All of their programs are inspirational in nature and incorporate lived experiences to engage their young audiences.

Gymnastics WA CEO Emily Randall is delighted to see the two WA organisations align.

Gymnastics WA is pleased to support a Western Australian charity that can provide our gymnastics community with tools and techniques to improve wellbeing,” said Emily.

On August 13, A Stitch In Time facilitated an education session on Psychological Considerations for Performance for Gymnastics WA’s Developing Champions program. None other than Blair Evans, a two-time Australian Olympic Swimmer who represented Australia at International Level for nine years, presented the well-received session.

A Stitch In Time will also support Gymnastics WA’s new Gym Warriors Community Collective (GWCC) program by facilitating education workshops surrounding mental health and providing participants with mental health workbooks. These workbooks aim to empower athletes and provide them with the means to improve their overall wellbeing.

It’s an absolutely privilege to partner with such a respected organisation as Gymnastics WA. To have a like-minded organisation share in the same passion as we do in placing a priority on mental health, is not only refreshing, but inspiring. We look forward to expanding our services with Gymnastics WA in helping gymnasts develop healthy habits and aid in their personal development,” said Greg, founder of A Stitch In Time.
