Telethon Set for More Gym Warriors Fun at Optus Stadium

Telethon is in its 54th year and in doing so, have raised over $395 million to provide better lives and opportunities for our children with the help of the generous Western Australian community.

Gymnastics WA has been privileged to be involved in both 2019 and 2020 with activations conducted at the Telethon Family Festivals presented by Coles. We are incredibly excited and honoured to announce that in 2021, Gymnastics WA will again be involved at the Telethon Family Festival on Sunday, October 17th at Optus Stadium.

From 10am – 4pm, Gymnastics WA and our incredible accredited coaches will provide an exciting and engaging activity championing both KinderGym and our brand new Gym Warriors program for children to jump in and have a go. No previous gymnastics experience is required – just a whole lot of enthusiasm and smiles.

Gymnastics WA’s previous two activations with Telethon has seen more than 4000 participants and we can’t wait to see this number grow further.

Gymnastics WA’s Community Engagement Coordinator, Luke Richardson is excited by the opportunity to have Gymnastics front and centre in what is one of WA’s biggest event of the year. “In what is an immensely important fundraising initiative for our state, it’s a fantastic opportunity to leave our ‘footprint’ for a third year in a row.

Gymnastics WA is passionate in sharing how incredibly important gymnastics recreational programs are for the physical and mental development of our community. Engaging more than 1500 children at this event means we can provide an avenue for those participating for the first time with a link up with one of our many member clubs to continue to develop their physical and mental skill fundamentals as they grow.”
