Gymnastics WA Board Position Available - Finance & Accounting

An exciting opportunity has become available for a person with previous Board experience and strong skills in Finance/Accounting to join the governing Board of Gymnastics WA, the peak body for the sport of gymnastics in Western Australia. 

About the Organisation
Gymnastics WA provides the opportunity for anyone interested in fun, fundamental movement, fitness and friendships to participate in gymnastic programs, competitions, development programs and activities which are accessible to all, no matter their experience, skill, age or ability level. Pathways are also provided for individuals who strive for intrastate, state, or the ultimate, national selection representing Australia at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and other international events. 

As the State Sporting Organisation, 
Gymnastics WA’s Strategic Plan and direction aligns with the Gymnastics in Australia Strategic Plan.

About the Board
Nine Directors form the Gymnastics WA Board. Board meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month from January through to November commencing at 5.30pm. The Board may convene additional meetings if necessary. Meetings are held in the Gymnastics WA Boardroom at the State Gymnastics Centre, 99 Loftus St, Leederville WA 6007. 

About the Position
This is an Appointed Board position.  The successful applicant will serve a three-year term as an appointed position on the Gymnastics WA Board. Gymnastics WA is committed to ensuring diversity on its board. Women and people from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Expressions of interest (EOI) are being sought from suitable applicants who have a high level of understanding and interpretation of finance. The successful person will also have significant experience in financial operations, investment experience, financial management and oversight of medium to large organisations. CA or CPA qualification is highly desirable.
