The Gymnastics WA Interschool Carnival

The Interschool Carnival from 25-28 June at the State Gymnastics Centre was a key event to engage students of all abilities to enjoy Gymnastics.

The Start Here, Go Anywhere Carnival was held from the 25-26 June to provide an opportunity for younger students to learn fundamental movement skills from accredited gymnastics coaches. 324 boys and girls from Australian Islamic College - Thornlie, Applecross Primary School and Lake Monger Primary school had an amazing time developing their skills in a safe and fun environment with Gymnastics WA’s accredited coaches.

The Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) competition took place after the Start Here Go Anywhere Carnival and drew 189 primary and secondary students across 14 different schools competing in five divisions. The competition ran over two days with many athletes enjoying the competition with their friends and representing their schools.

Thank you to all of the school staff, judges and volunteers who made this event memorable for all participating students.

It was pleasing to see so many schools involved in the event and we look forward to growing in 2020.
