Gymnastics WA held a successful LaunchPad Ignite! Teachers Workshop on Monday 30 April at the State Gymnastics Centre.
A record 22 Teachers from 7 different schools attended the 3-hour workshop to learn about the benefits of gymnastics to the holistic development of all students and practical ways to implement gymnastics in their school environment.
Presenter Nicole Colev had the participants engaged and enthused through numerous fun activities which proved that gymnastics lessons could be delivered with minimal equipment.
Teachers learned about the wide range of exciting gymnastics resources and programs available to them including Sporting Schools, GymMix Online Lesson Planner and the Interschool Carnival. Applecross Primary School brought along an amazing 16 teachers so they could embed gymnastics programs into their Sport & Physical Education program.
“The teachers all told me how great the workshop was and how much they got out of it.” said Applecross PS Physical Education Specialist, Derek Rjinhart.
