Inclusive Gymnastics

GWA is committed to providing inclusive gymnastics opportunities and strives to ensure that anyone participating or wishing to participate in gymnastics is able to do so in a safe and welcoming environment.
Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that inclusive opportunities are available for people no matter their age, gender, ability, ethnicity, gender identity, religion or sexuality. GWA also advocate that all those involved in the sport must demonstrate the appropriate standards of conduct and treat everyone fairly.

Disability Discrimination Act

The Federal Disability Discrimination Act 1992 provides protection for everyone in Australia against discrimination based on disability. Disability discrimination occurs when people with a disability are treated less fairly than people without a disability. GWA have produced a short 'Guide to the Disability Discrimination Act' explaining the requirements of the Act that are most relevant to gymnastics clubs and associations.

For further information about the Act please visit the Australian Human Rights Commission website or contact Emily Johnston, GWA Participation and Inclusion Coordinator on 08 9228 9399 or e-mail participation@gymnasticswa/asn.au

Inclusion Policy

GWA have developed an Inclusion Policy which emphasises GWA’s commitment to providing and promoting inclusive gymnastics opportunities.
