Gym Warriors
Looking for an exciting program designed to develop your child's fundamental movement skills? Look no further!

Gym Warriors is a new participation initiative engaging children and young people through fundamental gymnastics movements and activities, harnessing the proven popularity and broader appeal of parkour, free running, Ninja style activities and obstacle courses.

Gym Warriors is not just a brand but a philosophy and program which empower clubs to deliver participation activities that add their own local flavour and identity to engage their community.

Gym Warriors programs are age-appropriate programs to suit the development of fundamental movement and physical literacy in early childhood. Gymnastics WA has developed a comprehensive suite of Gym Warriors resources and support toolkits for member clubs to increase their capability to deliver targeted fundamental gymnastics movement activations and market themselves in the local community.

Gymnastics WA’s Gym Warriors resources for member clubs include the following:

  • Practical advice and checklists for delivering community and school activations;
  • Lesson and circuit plan examples;
  • Member club access to Gym Warriors equipment and marketing materials;
  • Marketing & Communications toolkit to promote club delivery of Gym Warriors.

Gym Warriors was designed as a resource for clubs and schools to assist with introducing fundamental movement in the form of gymnastics based, FreeG style of activities.

Gym Warriors is designed to become the Fundamental Movement Skills program of choice in all Western Australian primary schools and as such provide a way to promote gymnastics and ongoing participation in affiliated club programs.

The program has the capacity to complement existing Gymnastics for All (GfA) programs in clubs as well as to provide the foundation for a fresh approach to classes.

What Do Our Participating Schools Think?

Sacred Heart Primary School, Thornlie:
 “…the sessions have been a lot more age appropriate and engaging for our children. I can definitely see the benefits of the program and will consider looking at the educator training options for next year.”

Bloom Early Education, Jindalee: “It was great. The children really enjoyed the sessions with Amanda. I feel that the children were just starting to really get the hang of it and it was time to hang up their boots.”

Bloom Early Education, Yanchep“We have absolutely been loving it!! The kids are loving it also but the educators have been raving about it!”

Sacred Heart Primary School Thornlie Early Learning Centre & OSHC We have definitely enjoyed the program and really appreciate the lengths you went to ensure we had a great experience. Although the session lengths were too long for our age group, Nikki was wonderful and worked with the educators to plan sessions based on the children's current interests and development. The educators noticed an improvement of the children's attention span over the course of the program and were blown away with the gifts provided for the children at the end. We are definitely looking to include some educator training in our budget for next year so I will be in touch.”
