Godwin and Whitehead impress in Olympic debut
A calm and well controlled performance by both Georgia Godwin and Emily Whitehead was solidified with both athletes hitting all four routines on their Olympic debut.
Opening the competition for both herself and the third sub-division on Beam, Whitehead gave a solid performance that featured a good acro series, punch front and a nice 1.5 twist dismount to finish earning her an impressive score of 12.666.
Moving onto Floor next, Godwin's powerful routine included an incredible sky double layout and ended with a double pike earning her a score of 13.1666.

Ending their competition as they started it, a visibly relaxed and excited Godwin and Whitehead finished strongly on Uneven Bars with scores of 13.033 and 13.066.
